Mangus and the Box part one

So I am still in the process of unpacking Mangus from Shadow hunters as he is a very different character in the books, movie, and tv adaptions and we see that in the TV adaptations this was due to copyright issues and licensing to use content from the books as well as rating issues as we really can’t have Magnus an 800-year-old warlock dating a 16-year-old shadow hunter so it made sense to make sure that they aged up the characters and Harry Shum jr will always be my Magnus. I have only watched certain bits of the movie so we need to be aware of this but I see that Mangus is very open but very private at the same time I talked about the box before and how it contains memories of past lovers and we see that this becomes an issue for Alec as it reminds him that he will die and Mangus will not and this is very difficult to accept, and it is very similar to when people with disability’s use things that aren’t considered to be “age-appropriate,” but it needs appropriate to their needs suc

Mangus Bane and the Deal, and similarities' to disablity decision making.

This is going to be a hard post to write, and I do wonder about how it shows people with disabilities are treated every day. We see that Alec is hiding his decisions from his mother he did talk about this to Izzy but we see she tried to talk him out about it.  So, in Alec making this deal we see that he sacrificed for Mangus out of love for him, we do see that people need to be aware of what is happening to people in their lives. We see that Asmodeus was quite manipulative in asking Alec to break up with Magnus.  He doesn't have Magnus's best interest at heart and we see that this does become an issue in that Magus was used by both the Shadowhunter, Vampires, and Asmodus we see that this all comes together and we see that Mangus was able to use humor as a tool to defuse bad situations but we see that when people start making decisions for him without him he gets angry and this is very common in disabilities we call it acting out, however when the person has some control in thei

Jorden Peterson - On the Bible

So this is such an interesting clip and I have lost track of how many times I have watched it. However, I love what it is saying and it links into the shadowhunter's content I have worked on some well as it says that the stories are true but not in a way that we would expect as in finding physical evidence to suggest what happened is their however it does suggest that we need to be aware that there are cultures where truth was passed down in stories and legends.  It wasn't a truth of their past but an explanation of why things are the way they are.  As well as oral history and this is amazing as we see that when we look deeper into the stories we see that people seem to be aware that there is such a thing as objective truth and this objective is what needs to be challenged and heard as we see that many people have challenged the catholic church but what we need to remember is any organization is only as good as the people within it, and this shows in a way with the Shadow hunte

The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare and others

My thoughts on the Book continued and we see that it's an anthology of short stories that we see are unable to be separated. Detailing the life of Magnus Bane and we see that he has had a very rich and interesting life because he is immortal and we see that this is the very issue that he is immortal so he has all the time in the world and we see that he is unable to be separated into this because people need to have a beginning middle and end of their story.  However, we see that this is a challenge and I have often asked myself in the more mundane aspects of life if I could choose to be immortal with the powers that Magnus has would you do it?  Given that I live with disabilities I would choose to be healed from them but taking them away from me takes away a core part of who I am, and why I do this, I have a very early blog post that I will put up on my coming website, about Magnus losing his magic and will link it down below, I see that it's quite a complex question and it

Hodge in the Shadow hunters world.

So I am learning never to say never in blogging and I am going back and revisiting a character that was very much a driver in the books but not mentioned in the show. This person is Hodge stark weather. The lightwood family tutor. So we see that he was punished by the clave for his role in the uprising as well however we do see that goes through a massive transformation in the show and we see that he wasn’t mentioned much in the show because they aged him up for the show and didn’t show that he was their tutor and that he couldn’t leave the NY institute and this was his punishment he couldn’t leave. In the books he is more elderly, content, and bookish, he also has a massive greenhouse where he has a lot of plants with that he can make a lot of potions, we also see that it supplies a lot of the institute’s food. As Hodge is a tutor for the lightwood family children and they see him as part of the family, however. We see that they haven’t been told the full story of the uprising a

Lilith in the Shadow world.

So, this is one of the last posts I will be doing on Shadow hunters I will be doing a deep dive into Lilith. So in Jewish mythology, she is Adam’s first wife and she is the mother of all demons,   All because she didn’t want to become subservient to Adam, I love this and I seek to see her and her mindset so she is the first “barren,’ woman, and portrayed as the height of evil.   So this evil had to come from somewhere yet we see that it was in Christian mythology that eve ate the apple from the tree in the garden of Eden. So what did that apple represent and why was it so controversial that she eats it as it gives her power, Lilith already had power and agency she knew that she didn’t need a man to save her it would be nice but she didn’t need a man to save her from herself, she new actions had consequences and that they couldn’t at times be predicted. However when we start to understand what is happening around Litth being portrayed as evil we start to see that it is a suppressi

Mia and What happens when you have a lack of support.

Mia and what happens when you have a lack of support part 3 So we see that Mia was a character in the Show and not the book, we see that she has had to be independent from   a very young age, we see that this is something that people who don’t trust easily have and we see that people need to trust and to tell people the truth. To the people who you care about. We see that Mia, with Simon, doesn’t trust him and we see that she doesn’t tell the whole truth. This isn’t lying but it’s a huge issue,   that we see that both Simon and Mia have trust issues because of the way that they become downworlders, so suddenly,   We see that she is in a “prison of her own mind,” in projecting her fears onto people. [i] We also see that she has gone through a massive amount of trauma, in Jorden and this is a metaphor and we see that Jorden does own his mistakes.   This is huge for a man to own his mistakes. So in owning their mistakes is great it shows some accountability in a way that we don’

Return to the shadows a review of the podcast.

S1E13 - Morning Star - Return to the Shadows with Katherine McNamara and Dominic Sherwood | Podcast on Spotify   So this is the podcast that I have been talking about and it’s interesting hearing from the actors themselves about what is going on behind the scenes and how things operated. So it’s a podcast that talks about what was happening behind the scenes when filming the TV adaption of Shadowhunters and we see that in the fandom there was a massive backlash about some elements that weren’t brought to life in the TV show however this podcast discusses the rights to the content and how things that worked in a book don’t work in a TV show due to things like ·        Budget they talk about the impact of the budget on the show and how keeping to a show’s budget is important to people. ·          Special effects also play into the budget, as well as things like this, can be expensive to do and if you don’t know how long a show is going to run it makes sense, to not have big budge

Chain of gold a review part 3

Chain of gold a review part 3 So I have some quotes from the book that I would like to share with people and they are quite, illuminating, so they show a very different side to the Shadowhunter’s world, and the world that they live in isn’t so different from our own, it has its issues that are unique to the shadow world. That they are born into the world and face ex-communication if they try to escape or live apart from the world. I will share them in another post as this post is very information heavy as well and I see that the quotes them selves deserve there own posts.  This world is brutal, and we see that Tessa Gray a half Shadowhunter half warlock is, featured much more heavily in this area.    We see that she doesn’t know who her father is but we see this explains why her son a Herondale has an ability that other shadow hunters don’t this is the ability, to go into demonic realms, and this is quite interesting in that the demonic realms are, complex to navigate in a way, and

The Mark of Cain in Mythology.

The Mark of Cain in Mythology.    So this is a very unexpected post but I see that it needs to be taken seriously, to understand the mythology of the shadow hunters’ world we need to understand the judo Christian mythology, and this will focus on the Jewish Mythology as we often as a culture forget that Christianity grew out of Judaism and this is something that we need to remember when watching the show and the context of the show is they are enforcing the angel’s orders and that is why they have the Shadow hunters.   So the Mark of Cain was a punishment to cain and we know that Cain was the first vampire, he was cursed, to wander all of the earth, due to him not offering the proper sacrifices to god.   There is a debate if cain is the first vampire but we see in the shadow hunters we see, that the see It is assumed that he is and we see that he is suffering his fate from killing his brother, the drinking the blood can be seen in several different ways and I like to take the

Shadowfam thanks to the actors

Hi, guys so this is a bit of a slant but we see that there was a shadow hunter's / comic con event that was cancelled at the last moment.  I was on social media at the time and there was a lot of anger at the event organizers.  As some of the actors were also blindsided as well, we see that this is bad management and it was trending on Twitter, however now we see that people can show what the fans and the "fandom," as a whole did.  I see that it shows a great deal of respect to the actors that they went and found the fans and that the fans were able to coordinate a meet-up.  It shows in a world where the actors are increasingly "protected," by their producers we see that when something like this happens we see that they do care about their fans and that the fans do respect them.   I do have my own issues with the way some of the actors have been treated in the past on social media. But we need to realize that social media is as a form of technology only a teen,

Chain of gold Video

Image
So this is a video that I did on the Book Chain of Gold, by Cassandra Clare. I talk about how the Shadow world is so stratified that we see many parallels to disability and I see that we see a lot of parallels in this world and that your worth is measured by what you can achieve and not who you are. We also see some of where the Shadowhunter's customs come from and we see why some of the main characters in the series, have the views they do. As it is generational as we see why the Lightwoods were stripped of their residence in Idris. ( the shadow hunters' spiritual homeland) We also see where the clave roots came from, and we see that they don't want to acknowledge what is really going on in their world they want everything to stay the same. However, we see that change is good, as we see the praxis a predecessor to the malach i configuration, a box that can trap a greater demon. I hope to do Chain of iron when it comes out as well.

The Bane Chronicles an over view

Hi all so I am going to cross-post the videos to the blog and I hope you all like them and that you enjoy them. I hope that you enjoyed me covering the Shadowhunter world.  I would like to thank everyone who got me to this stage both publicly and privately as well.  I will give the Videos by the end of next year to see how they go. But what do people think of the way we are able to see direct links to disability topics? What do people think and what other series should I cover as well, as it seems to be an issue that we aren't talking about and disability isn't a dirty word. I see that we should be able to express ourselves and not have to fight for the help we need.  I hope that as we continue this journey we can see a way forward to cover more content and disability content as well as broader topics around disability as well. So I have a lot planned out in this space and please if you can donate to Patreon please do as it would go back into the blog and content creation.

Heavenly fire and the consequence's of dealing without consent.

Heavenly fire and the consequences of dealing without consent This has been an interesting post to think about as it deals with some very heavy topics that are still very much hot-button topics in the disability community. So We see that Heavenly fire is an off-the-books clave program, that people have died for so we see that there is an issue with this at times as we discover it is a program that Aldertree is running very illegally.   Shadowhunters Season 3, Episode 17 | Helen Sabotages The Heavenly Fire Supply | Freeform - YouTube   As we discover he is Just as bad as the valentine in that he wants to rid the world of down worlders and we see that he is trailing it to put it into the water supply in NY and that this would then clans NY and then the world as the Shadow hunters have the time and resources to do so to clans the world of down world. But we do see that it is “off the books,”  and discovered by Izzy and when she is aided by Simon we see that the clave is expe
