Mia and what happens when you have a lack of support part 3

So we see that Mia was a character in the Show and not the book, we see that she has had to be independent from  a very young age, we see that this is something that people who don’t trust easily have and we see that people need to trust and to tell people the truth. To the people who you care about.

We see that Mia, with Simon, doesn’t trust him and we see that she doesn’t tell the whole truth. This isn’t lying but it’s a huge issue,  that we see that both Simon and Mia have trust issues because of the way that they become downworlders, so suddenly,

We see that she is in a “prison of her own mind,” in projecting her fears onto people. [i]

We also see that she has gone through a massive amount of trauma, in Jorden and this is a metaphor and we see that Jorden does own his mistakes.  This is huge for a man to own his mistakes. So in owning their mistakes is great it shows some accountability in a way that we don’t see in society. [ii]

This trauma is carried over into her other relationships, we also see it is affecting her and we see that she is scared to be the person she wants to be and is trapped in a way. Due to this trauma, we see that Magnus tries to help but we see that he can’t at times as you can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped.

However we do see that she is able to stand up to people as she needs to learn to do this and she stands up to people, and learning boundaries is an issue for people who have had trauma, they are either to strong or to lose.

In Mia we see that they are very strong, and she dosn;t let people in and we see that she hasn’t even gone back to her parents, to explain, what happened to her, we see her go back and this is great she goes back to her parents.

We also see that she does find her freedom in a way of her owning the restaurant in the end.  This speaks to her being able to take risks in a way.  She takes a massive risk and we see that this is an independence issue as well.

Independence for women has been an interesting concept over the years and we see that it has been influenced by the way that the wider community thinks about women's role in society.

We see that this has changed several times over the years and how this change is interesting as if it changes we see social change and we see it change from it is dangerous for women to exercise and see that they are married off, or have very limited options,  to then it moving to people who are equal to men, however, we need to balance this out by saying that men and women do have different outcomes in life due to being interested in different things.

She has a lot of agency and we see that this agency she doesn’t wait for prince charming to save her she finds the ability to find freedom and save herself. I love this as it shows young women that we don’t need to wait for prince charming to save us and to see what people are doing to work towards their own goals, in life we see Mia changes her goal from studying to running the restaurant and renaming it as well, so in renaming it we see that there is a reference to the book and to understand the reference it is where the shadow hunters go to eat as the institute in the books doesn’t have servants or staff, this is something that we see changed in the show we see that there are servants and a lot of Shadowhunters living together when in the books we see that the Lightwoods are sent to NY as a punishment, so they do most things on there own or with the help of Mangus in later episodes.

This shows a tie-in to the books quite well and we see that this issue can be solved in a lot of ways, at times, we see that people can work together and we see this as a thing that needs to happen a lot more in this world we see that people want to work together and to be social and we see that there is a lot of changes in this world as people and creatures grow and change.

We also see that people are pushed into being a person they didn’t expect to be due to situations they didn’t expect in their life, much like people with disabilities need to rebuild and it can take years after going from able-bodied to disabled, we see that this is a massive issue as a lot of the trauma that goes with becoming disabled as an adult isn’t really dealt with healthily in the world.  I am aware that some courses are better than others when it comes to this so if you’re in a country with a good care system please comment or email me and share your story.

I love the fact that we see that she is active in changing the world in a way that is unexpected as she is a downloader and they seem to look out for each other in a way.

We see her catch Bat when he turns and she knows that she had to go through this trauma alone so she makes sure that he doesn’t have to go through the trauma herself.  That he has the support he needs but we see that she doesn’t force this on him in a way she knows what he needs but doesn’t force it.

We also see that she is chosen by Luke to be the next leader of the pack, so what would this means for her in a way, is difficult as we see that the show ended far too soon.

However, in the return to the shadows podcast, we see that it is hinted that luke would have been a shadow hunter and Mia running the NY wolf pack.

This is great as we see that the is a massive issue in disability, in keeping a person busy, as it’s the best thing to do for the person however them being on a limited income is the issue, so working with their budget is the issue.

However we see that there are issues with economic development and including for people with disabilities, however, I know that in Aust this is an issue that is being addressed however times people with disabilities are held back by people who care for them, who don’t want to see people hurt. However this can be an issue because if you are on the pension you can’t earn over an amount or you lose your benefits, and these benefits are what makes housing affordable, but many people with disabilities want to work but if you earn too much your medication and other things can become unaffordable, this is where something like a Universal basic income would become handy as well as looking at the rates of asset that a person can have before they lose their pension as it’s not a lot to live on.  However, if you can budget it can be done, I know several people who live on a part pension and part income this is a risk as if you do this for an amount of time we see that people are reassessed at times. So their work capacity is reassessed, so some people who want to work are held back because of this. It’s also so ingrained in society that to be valued we see that you need to be working.

Where this isn’t the case if you can work you should be but looking at a person's life overall is the big thing and seeing what they have done is amazing.  But not all people with disabilities want to be an inspiration to people in fact this can cause massive issues as it can set people up for failure and disappointment.

I live with chronic pain and I need to push past this however there are days when I feel good and can do a lot however I need to respect my body’s limits and I have done a video about Dr. Jorden Peterson and disability, as something that needs to be said is that sometimes it’s not an excuse it is a very valid reason.
