Mia and what happens when you have a lack of support part one.

We are now going to do a deep dive into Mia and what happens when you have a lack of support. We see that she is strong and independent but also that she didn’t get there alone and has gone through a lot. From her teen years until now she wasn’t cared for until Luke found her when  she was found bitten by a werewolf (Jordan) and left to turn. This is difficult for her to process as it was her boyfriend (Jordan) who got bitten as well and he didn’t know how to tell her so simply ghosted her (he stopped communicating with her) and left her to turn alone. Even though he had stopped speaking to her, he started following and essentially stalking her until Mia told him to leave her alone. Jordan only actually left Mia alone once he had attacked her and bitten her then left her to turn. We see that she is strong and independent but also that she didn’t get there alone and has gone through a lot. Alec and Underhill - a lesson in being a role model Shadow hunters.

Izzy Kisses Simon & Underhill Talks To Alec! - Shadowhunter 3x6 'I'll Keep Your Secret!' - YouTube  This clip is amazing as it focuses on the complexity of the Shadow world and shows a different side of each of the characters something that I see as a great thing. However what I want to focus on is that we see a very different side of Alec, a massive progression from someone so focused on work and uptight to someone who can have a drink. We see that this is during a season when Alec and Magus are having issues and Alec finds that he can talk to Underhill. He sees that he can trust him. From the little we see of him we see that he was the head of  Cyber security.   Alec is also respected and admired for the way he runs the institute.  Being gracious he accepts help from a subordinate in a difficult situation.  A situation could easily become a massive issue for Alec and it could really not help his cause to have this blow up on him.  As he had to fight so hard to even be

Trigger warnings for talking about self-harm This is a continuation of the series about Jace and Alec as I seemed to find that I didn't think I had a good handle on this relationship. It seems to be so complex and again when Clary comes into the world things change for everyone so we see that Jace was in with Izzy about the mission to save Melorne a Seeley  from the city of bones, and we see that Alec can't control his anger towards Jace as Part of the vow that they took was, to be honest with each other and Jace has been lying to Alec he has been going behind his back putting the institute at risk and at this point, Lydia is in charge so Alec is feeling frustrated lost, and angry at his closest friend essentially ditching him for a girl that he barely knows. We see that Jace knows that Alec was in love with him and that under all of that masking he is scared. However, this is the point where Alec is straight down the line and will act by the Law as we know that the shadow hunt

Alec and Jace Parabatai bond; a lesson in Male friendship.

So this post is the start of another series looking at this relationship when I did the research for this post I found out that there are parallels in most religious communities to prevent social isolation. Not the supernatural bonds but people who have chosen to work together, to go to bat for each other as well.  This bond most similar is when Mormons go on missions, as they are together the whole time. Yet this bond in the show is quite complex as we see that it is a rare thing to have a Parabatai and something to be celebrated, yet like most religious communities and couplings they have rules around it, one of the most well-known is that they can't fall in love or else they can become too powerful and become the Nephilim of the old testament, the angels that carry out the wrath of God, yet it is an indiscriminate punishment.  Yet we do see that there is an argument over the translation of what this means and it could mean fallen warriors making the argument for the reality of h
