Heavenly fire and the consequence's of dealing without consent.

Heavenly fire and the consequences of dealing without consent This has been an interesting post to think about as it deals with some very heavy topics that are still very much hot-button topics in the disability community. So We see that Heavenly fire is an off-the-books clave program, that people have died for so we see that there is an issue with this at times as we discover it is a program that Aldertree is running very illegally.   Shadowhunters Season 3, Episode 17 | Helen Sabotages The Heavenly Fire Supply | Freeform - YouTube   As we discover he is Just as bad as the valentine in that he wants to rid the world of down worlders and we see that he is trailing it to put it into the water supply in NY and that this would then clans NY and then the world as the Shadow hunters have the time and resources to do so to clans the world of down world. But we do see that it is “off the books,”  and discovered by Izzy and when she is aided by Simon we see that the clave is expe

The Shadowhunters and the start of a changing of the Gard.

The younger shadow hunters see the law very differently and don’t understand why some of the laws are in place and the role the accords play in this as well as we see that they don’t get what people are doing and are doing it because it is the law but at what point do they realize that they are part of a system that needs to change and we see that it will change and how it changes deserves its post as we see that people can see links to real-world historical events and how we see that the shadow hunters are blindly following the laws or in the case of the lightwoods, not following orders of the Clave but this at times is the morally right thing to do and this is quite interesting in a way that we see that it shows that the younger lightwoods including Alec at times are aware that the Clave is very self-serving and doesn’t want to change.   We see that the consul is elected by the clave and lives in ideas and has the power to imprison people without trial and we see that they don’t

Izzy Lighwood and Simon - Shadowhunters relationships

This is the start of a series on Simon and Izzy Lightwood as I will do a deep dive into the issues that they face as they come into their ship in the later seasons of the show. So things like being the child of an alcoholic and having to hide your lifestyle as Simon just wants to be a normal young adult in the books he wants to go to college and get his degree and play his music. In the show it is he and Maurine in the books it is a full band and they eat at a restaurant dock that is on the docks. But this would be another post as who owns the restaurant becomes important in the show and the books. Izzy comes from a completely different world being home-schooled and doted on by her siblings completely whereas where her other siblings had to compete for attention from their parents. Whereas  Simon was given everything he needed and was willing to work for what he wanted in life.   Simon Lewis comes to the Shadoworld as mundane, through wanting to protect Clary when she finds out she is

Simon and the mark of Cain

Image
This is a variation from the books as Clary was the one that gave Simon the mark of Cain, in the show, it is the Seely queen. ( The Queen of the faeries) This is such a great variation and ties into the Relationship in the show that shows the complexity of this world, it is a great example of all the legends that are true. The mark of Cain has been shown in various ways in media as well as in history books as we are starting to see most legends are based on some type of truth or a person's misfortune. We see that the Seely queen thinks that this is a blessing, but it is a curse, as again my lens is a disability and it seems that people who see people living on a government income is a great way to live, yet it isn't as most people with a disability live in poverty or have to rely on charities at time's weather that be family or friends or formal charities. The formality of this ceremony sees that they take this mark seriously. The history of this mark is that it activat

Simon and Jace Downworlder Shadowhunter relationships an over view.

This post will be mostly focused on the first and second seasons of Simon as he is dragged into the shadow world, unwillingly he is turned into a vampire without his consent, and has to learn to adapt,  we see that he is horrified at what happens to him yet we see Jace beside Clary to support her as he has tolerated Simon from the start, he does become quite an asset in the Shadow World, yet we see him struggle with the fact that he has been turned into a monster, from a mundane that is trying to drag clary out of this world.  At this stage we see clary still seeking answers to why her mother didn't want her to be part of the Shadow world, we do very quickly find out why and we get a look into the mindsets of the Shadow hunters to the "Mundane," world.  We see in this clip that Jace is very confident in his abilities and isn't impressed with Simon at all, he thinks that Clary would be better off without him yet in the first couple of days we see that Simon sees how th

Clary and Simon and the Shadow world. Season One Shadowhunter's.

So this is going to be possibly another series of posts about this relationship as it does progress and show's how making decisions on behalf of others can lead to unexpected consequences this starts with Simon trying to protect Clary as they are young adults and he knows nothing about this world and because he can't see what Clary can see he tries to protect her as the assumptions is that she is on something and this is creating problems.  Yet when he discovers she can see the "Shadow world," and he can't he is concerned as a good friend should be yet Jace can show Simon what Clary can see in later episodes in this season.  Jess Penner - "Don't Come Over" Music | Shadowhunters Season 1, Episode 1 | Freeform - YouTube It does create massive problems for the Shadowhunters, due to her ( in the first series) not realizing she is the daughter of one of their own who went rogue. Thinking that some agreements that were made are, a little too lenient on th

Magnus and other downworlders - Simon.

So this post has been an interesting one to write, it seems to me that in the book Simon and TV Simon are very different and there are comic cons and things that explore this as well. This is because the TV show and the books are very different art forms and the way that they were adopted is a story in and of itself, as there was a movie made first but it didn't really do well.  However, the TV show did take some liberties with the plot lines however it has been made clear that it was to do with ratings and as I have said in other posts they have essentially made some of the more "controversial," relationships in the books healthy to the point the actors have won awards for their relationship on screen.  However, due to the show's cancelation, they weren't able to continue with some of the plots that they wanted to, with relationships, and continue with some of the plot lines of the books. In previous posts, I talked about Magnus being connected to Camille and how
