Chain of gold a review part 3

Chain of gold a review part 3 So I have some quotes from the book that I would like to share with people and they are quite, illuminating, so they show a very different side to the Shadowhunter’s world, and the world that they live in isn’t so different from our own, it has its issues that are unique to the shadow world. That they are born into the world and face ex-communication if they try to escape or live apart from the world. I will share them in another post as this post is very information heavy as well and I see that the quotes them selves deserve there own posts.  This world is brutal, and we see that Tessa Gray a half Shadowhunter half warlock is, featured much more heavily in this area.    We see that she doesn’t know who her father is but we see this explains why her son a Herondale has an ability that other shadow hunters don’t this is the ability, to go into demonic realms, and this is quite interesting in that the demonic realms are, complex to navigate in a way, and

Heavenly fire and dealing without consent part two

As we see in Chain of Gold, they mention that all the stories are true in a way that you might not suspect. So we see that there is a lot to deconstruct here as well and it is going to be quite interesting to link it back to disability and consent due to current health outcomes due to COVID as the Lockdowns people pause as it was the disability community saying essentially welcome to our world and it showed people what it is like to have your day to day reality controlled by someone else or to be dependent on others for what you need day to day and what happens if they can’t get there. So, it is this that I will go into more depth, and I will also do a post around how this affects the Down worlders as a whole as well as it changes the whole world the question is what makes you is it your personality or your actions?   How does your personality affect your actions and how do your actions change you if you don’t have something to aim at this would make you depressed and struck in the p

The Lightwood's Izzy and Addiction - Shadow hunters

Image
This is a continuation of the series of the Lightwood family that is talking about family dysfunction, this is the second post focusing on Izzy Lightwood and her behavior resulting from her relationships with her parents and later her brothers. We see in this clip that their mother favors political alliance's over the family's happiness, and order over comfort. Their mother needs a quick political alliance to restore their influence at the Clave, this is the organization that oversees the Shadow Hunters internationally. It is based in Alicante the Shadow Hunter's spiritual homeland. That is glamoured to Mundane much like most of the Shadow World. This leads to her seeking out relationships that don't have any real attachment to them before she meets Raphaelle and later Simon. Her secure attachment isn't to her Mother and Father it is to Alec and we see that he is the Caregiver of the siblings. Izzy is anxious in her attachment style, she is attached to her

Magnus and Jace - Shadowhunter's and Relationship's.

Image
What is it about how Magnus sees Jace, as information about Magnus comes out, through his relationship with Jace we see a vulnerable side that we hadn't seen in the first season?   We also see that Jace has the confidence to talk to Magnus when he is boarding with him as he doesn't feel welcome at the institute.  Jace is the typical Shadowhunter that sees Downworlders as second class, yet Magnus having the relationship with Alec in the second season is a great thing as we see that his parabaiti can sense he is happier it is alluded to that they have gotten physical.  Yet it is funny to me that this clip is Jace taking on the role of a big brother due to the way that the bond that they share is, they are bonded for life so essentially Jace can feel when Alec is unhappy and Alec can in the same way.  Jace can sense that Alec is happier, yet we can see how  Magnus is so tied to the Shadoworld and now navigating the relationship with a Shadowhunter as he has interacted with them in

Magnus and Alec

This is a relationship that has been written about but I would like to explore it in the context of healing from trauma, as both characters have a massive amount of trauma and this relationship isn't trauma bonding it is healing from trauma, both Magnus and Alec have massive amounts of trauma.  Magnus a lot stems from the way that the shadow hunters have treated him over the years and this is why he has a mistrust of the current generation of Shadowhunter he admits to Alec that he closed his heart off for a lot of years.  What isn't explored in the show but is in the books is stated that Alec is the spitting image of Will Herondale a  Shadowhunter that he had a complex relationship with and this is why he does a double take in the show when Alec sees him at his club for the first time.  Shadowhunters Reduced BGMusic 01x04 - Magnus sees Alec for the first time. - YouTube As I have stated before the book Magnus and show Magnus are very different characters, however, both have v

Men and Consent why we need to include them in the conversation.

Their lives can be ruined by rumors and innuendo just as much as women especially people in the public eye, and people in such diverse industries. That young man fears offending women due to equality has been taught that women get offended by it, this could be true for some people but not for all, women, and in some industries not all of them. Social media has made this so much worse as people don’t forget anymore it stays up forever and not everyone every day needs to be reminded of one small mistake they made. It can also be taken out of context in a very real way and if people have video editing skills it can end up on the internet and cause a lot of damage to reputations.   People don’t have the compassion they used to, and people would take the time to educate themselves on what they had done wrong and how they could not make the same mistake.     Has dating ruined the way some men feel about relationships or being in a healthy relationship? So things like the men go t

Disablity Media and writers rooms.

In a previous post, I have written about disability and media representation around disability in the media so it wanting to find out more I asked this question on  Quora and have received some interesting responses to it.  To me, it shows an awareness of people wanting to have accurate representation but not willing to risk ratings as the reality of media whether it be a blog, YouTube, free-to-air TV or on a streaming service, or pre covid at a movie theatre it is a business and it is there to make money. If the ratings aren't there it will get axed and add to that if an actor says anything wrong, it could cost the series and the production company a lot of money.  If they are a young actor and naïve they can generally be educated on the topic, but the question of disability and representation starts in the creative process so essentially in the writer's room.  Screenwriters and people working in writers' rooms how do you feel about writing disabled character's is it
