Men and Consent why we need to include them in the conversation.

Their lives can be ruined by rumors and innuendo just as much as women especially people in the public eye, and people in such diverse industries.

That young man fears offending women due to equality has been taught that women get offended by it, this could be true for some people but not for all, women, and in some industries not all of them.

Social media has made this so much worse as people don’t forget anymore it stays up forever and not everyone every day needs to be reminded of one small mistake they made.

It can also be taken out of context in a very real way and if people have video editing skills it can end up on the internet and cause a lot of damage to reputations. People don’t have the compassion they used to, and people would take the time to educate themselves on what they had done wrong and how they could not make the same mistake.

Has dating ruined the way some men feel about relationships or being in a healthy relationship?

So things like the men go their own way and this seems to be about men not being able to date or even approach women as they have preconceived ideas of how women would treat them and some women yes do treat men very badly.

This is where Jorden Peterson is speaking about the way he discovered men go their own way and then, again when he realized the impact he was saying about taking responsibility for your own life.

This is also now resonating about taking personal responsibility and this includes consent, and this is an important conversation to have as consent but there is also an issue around respect as they go hand in hand. Yet we aren’t having a conversation around respect in consent and what respect means.

One thing that I have found about respect is it isn’t earnt the way it used to be earnt through hard work and self-responsibility.

One thing that I have seen as I have started to seek out media clips about disability and representation is that it's talked about diversity and respecting diversity yet in this conversation self-respect and restraint have been lost. Watching this clip of a rising actor actually made me uncomfortable as the comments had said if this was a woman or girl there would have been a massive outcry but he handled it with an incredible amount of dignity.

I will also talk later about disability and consent as these are very difficult issues for me personally and how they have impacted my life.
