The Bane Cronicles

Image
So this is a bit of a shorter blog post about the Bane Chronicles, by Cassandra Clare and I see that we see this is an interesting concept as it is a collaboration with other authors as well.  as we see that as I have mentioned in other blog posts, we see that they can understand, what is happening, and Magnus is immortal. However, we see that he is interested in a way and we see more about the dynamics of the downward and this is interesting, that he is in the down world and he doesn't have a job.  But we see that he does consult, and in the original books he just procured what he needed. We see that he was an interesting character and we see that he doesn't need to work, as in the show he is portrayed as a child having a middle-class background living on a farm in the dutch east indies.  ( modern-day Indonesia)  )  Dutch East Indies - Wikipedia We see that one short story that stands out is the actual details of the circle and the uprising, so we see that the lightwoods Marys

Mia and What happens when you have a lack of support.

Mia and what happens when you have a lack of support part 3 So we see that Mia was a character in the Show and not the book, we see that she has had to be independent from   a very young age, we see that this is something that people who don’t trust easily have and we see that people need to trust and to tell people the truth. To the people who you care about. We see that Mia, with Simon, doesn’t trust him and we see that she doesn’t tell the whole truth. This isn’t lying but it’s a huge issue,   that we see that both Simon and Mia have trust issues because of the way that they become downworlders, so suddenly,   We see that she is in a “prison of her own mind,” in projecting her fears onto people. [i] We also see that she has gone through a massive amount of trauma, in Jorden and this is a metaphor and we see that Jorden does own his mistakes.   This is huge for a man to own his mistakes. So in owning their mistakes is great it shows some accountability in a way that we don’

Mia and what happens when you have a lack of support part one.

We are now going to do a deep dive into Mia and what happens when you have a lack of support. We see that she is strong and independent but also that she didn’t get there alone and has gone through a lot. From her teen years until now she wasn’t cared for until Luke found her when  she was found bitten by a werewolf (Jordan) and left to turn. This is difficult for her to process as it was her boyfriend (Jordan) who got bitten as well and he didn’t know how to tell her so simply ghosted her (he stopped communicating with her) and left her to turn alone. Even though he had stopped speaking to her, he started following and essentially stalking her until Mia told him to leave her alone. Jordan only actually left Mia alone once he had attacked her and bitten her then left her to turn. We see that she is strong and independent but also that she didn’t get there alone and has gone through a lot. From her teen years until now she wasn’t cared for until Luke found her where she was fo

Alec and Underhill - a lesson in being a role model Shadow hunters.

Izzy Kisses Simon & Underhill Talks To Alec! - Shadowhunter 3x6 'I'll Keep Your Secret!' - YouTube  This clip is amazing as it focuses on the complexity of the Shadow world and shows a different side of each of the characters something that I see as a great thing. However what I want to focus on is that we see a very different side of Alec, a massive progression from someone so focused on work and uptight to someone who can have a drink. We see that this is during a season when Alec and Magus are having issues and Alec finds that he can talk to Underhill. He sees that he can trust him. From the little we see of him we see that he was the head of  Cyber security.   Alec is also respected and admired for the way he runs the institute.  Being gracious he accepts help from a subordinate in a difficult situation.  A situation could easily become a massive issue for Alec and it could really not help his cause to have this blow up on him.  As he had to fight so hard to even be

Heavenly Fire and the Consequences of lack of informed consent.

Heavenly fire and the consequences of dealing without consent. This has been an interesting post to think about as it deals with some very heavy topics that are still very much hot-button topics in the disability community. So We see that Heavenly fire is an off-the-books clave program, that people have died for so we see that there is an issue with this at times as we discover it is a program that Aldertree is running very illegally.   ShadowhuntersSeason 3, Episode 17 | Helen Sabotages The Heavenly Fire Supply | Freeform -YouTube   As we discover he is just as bad as valentine in that he wants to rid the world of down worlders and we see that he is trailing it to put it into the water supply in NY and that this would then clans NY and then the world as the Shadow hunters have the time and resources to do so to clans the world of down world. But we do see that it is “off the books,” and that it is experimented on with prisoners and we see that they aren’t told what is

Simon and the mark of Cain

Image
This is a variation from the books as Clary was the one that gave Simon the mark of Cain, in the show, it is the Seely queen. ( The Queen of the faeries) This is such a great variation and ties into the Relationship in the show that shows the complexity of this world, it is a great example of all the legends that are true. The mark of Cain has been shown in various ways in media as well as in history books as we are starting to see most legends are based on some type of truth or a person's misfortune. We see that the Seely queen thinks that this is a blessing, but it is a curse, as again my lens is a disability and it seems that people who see people living on a government income is a great way to live, yet it isn't as most people with a disability live in poverty or have to rely on charities at time's weather that be family or friends or formal charities. The formality of this ceremony sees that they take this mark seriously. The history of this mark is that it activat

Magnus and the other downworlders - The Seelie Queen.

Image
Magnus is a warlock and has very complex relationships with the other down worlders these being the creatures that are in the shadow world but have demon blood in them and therefore are considered to be what the Shadowhunters call down worlders and they see the shadow world very differently due to being long-lived or immortal.  However, with Mangus, he has to play the long game due to his being immortal. He sees the long game as does the Seely queen. The queen has a very different relationship to Magnus in the books the current Seelie queen united the two courts, the Unseelie and the Seelie court they united to have a child.  This stopped the war that the Shadowhunters in Londen stopped due to one of the blackthorns being part Seele and we see that this does become an issue in the books we see that Mark and Kiren often are put between the two worlds due to this and we see that this can become an issue as well due to Mark being punished with having to join the wild hunt and it was the u

Magnus and Camille - His Relationships with the Down world.

So I looked further into Magnus and Camille and these two clips seem to explain it well. They do show how well Magnus is connected to the down world and the struggles, that they seem to face. It shows the complexity of the life that Magnus has lived, he lived for centuries and essentially can't die. It shows how he is a downworlder and how he sees the struggles and in these clips, it shows Magnus's growth over the years and references the spirit of the books as well.  As the tragedy of the Warlocks and Vampires is that they never die and this is exactly what Magnus is saying here, yet they try to make the best of it but how do you do this when you know that everyone around you will die, and you won't.  This is what I feel that Camille is referring to when she says, " The fear of loneliness has always been your Achilles heel heal you don't do well losing those you love,"  Shadowhunters | Season 2, Episode 4: Magnus Traps Camille | Freeform - YouTube   He also s
