Magnus is a warlock and has very complex relationships with the other down worlders these being the creatures that are in the shadow world but have demon blood in them and therefore are considered to be what the Shadowhunters call down worlders and they see the shadow world very differently due to being long-lived or immortal.  However, with Mangus, he has to play the long game due to his being immortal. He sees the long game as does the Seely queen. So I looked further into Magnus and Camille and these two clips seem to explain it well. They do show how well Magnus is connected to the down world and the struggles, that they seem to face. It shows the complexity of the life that Magnus has lived, he lived for centuries and essentially can't die.
