Mangus and the Box part one

So I am still in the process of unpacking Mangus from Shadow hunters as he is a very different character in the books, movie, and tv adaptions and we see that in the TV adaptations this was due to copyright issues and licensing to use content from the books as well as rating issues as we really can’t have Magnus an 800-year-old warlock dating a 16-year-old shadow hunter so it made sense to make sure that they aged up the characters and Harry Shum jr will always be my Magnus. I have only watched certain bits of the movie so we need to be aware of this but I see that Mangus is very open but very private at the same time I talked about the box before and how it contains memories of past lovers and we see that this becomes an issue for Alec as it reminds him that he will die and Mangus will not and this is very difficult to accept, and it is very similar to when people with disability’s use things that aren’t considered to be “age-appropriate,” but it needs appropriate to their needs suc

Mangus and the Box of memories unpacked a bit more.

So we see that Mangus bane from the TV show shadow hunters is immortal but we see him keep a box of memories from his past serious relationships and we see that this is a challenge for Alec his husband as Alec hasn’t had relationships before and this can be a massive issue and we see that this is very similar to people with a disability who are unable to let go of things that serve no value to them at all and this is quite interesting in a way that we see that there is links that are yet to be explored,   in this way but it is to be explored that Mangus is immortal so uses this box as a reminder of those who he has lost and we see that he   considers it not a blessing put a curse that he won’t die and that he will lose the people that he has loved one day and this triggers jealousy in Alec due to the fact that Alec knows that he will die and we see that this causes friction as they come from very different worlds, Alec being a shadow hunter and we see that this isn’t easy for Magnus

Mangus Bane and the links to disablity decision making, part two.

So in a previous post, I wrote about Mangus from the Books by Cassandra Clare and the TV show on Netflix we see that he is a warlock and we see that due to his boyfriend parabatai being possessed by Lilith in the show, controlled by Jonathan in the books as we see that the book to the screen had to be different because they had copyright issues with original,   content owner and some plotlines in the books had to be changed for TV one being that Magnus loses his magic to save Jace alec Parabaiti, and I have written on this relationship before and this is the link to the posts. https://annieswonderlanda.blogspot.com/2022/05/alec-and-jace-parabatai-bond-lesson-in.html https://annieswonderlanda.blogspot.com/2022/06/alec-and-jace-parabaiti-part-two.html However in short we see that it is a supernatural bond between   people of the same sex as in the past in the books they had people of different sexes come together to form this bond and they fell in love and by them falling in love

Magnus Bane and comfrort items part Three

So this is really interesting post as Mangus is immortal and this plays into a lot of what he does in the Shadow world and we see that people are seeing that this plays into the ways the shadow hunters see him du to the fact that they aren’t great, at information sharing and there is a whole mantra in the Shadowhunters that they don’t interfere with downworlders affairs and down worlders are often seen as second class citizens that in previous eras,   and we see that   Mangus has seen the change in attitudes from downworlders needing to be “eliminated,” to controlled, and then the accords coming in.   Giving them there rights to self govern but we see that in the past shadow hunters downworlders for sport and this gave rise to fundamentalist thinking and this is what lead to the Circle and it was lead by Valentine and it shows how extremism can rise in any organization, But in bringing it back to Mangus the box has many happy memories as we see him fighting, in what seems to be   the

The emotional impact of disability a overview. Part one

<script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4981013962895893" crossorigin="anonymous"></script> This is something that we need to talk about and I am not talking about what the professionals call a Psychosocial disability , [i] which is created by a mental health condition or a disorder like Adhd or Autism spectrum disorder. I have used Shadowhunters as I see more and more parallels to disability in this world, especially among the down-worlders. But I am talking more generally about disability, so the things that people say really minimize the impact of the disability on your life and even demonize you in the process. I see this in Magnus from shadow hunters mental health, that he is thought to be a demon and that all worlders ( for those who don’t follow the blog are a creature that is half human and half mundane, an offensive   term for humans that can see the shadow world depending o

The Bane Cronicles

So this is a bit of a shorter blog post about the Bane Chronicles, by Cassandra Clare and I see that we see this is an interesting concept as it is a collaboration with other authors as well.  as we see that as I have mentioned in other blog posts, we see that they can understand, what is happening, and Magnus is immortal. However, we see that he is interested in a way and we see more about the dynamics of the downward and this is interesting, that he is in the down world and he doesn't have a job.  But we see that he does consult, and in the original books he just procured what he needed. We see that he was an interesting character and we see that he doesn't need to work, as in the show he is portrayed as a child having a middle-class background living on a farm in the dutch east indies.  ( modern-day Indonesia)  )  Dutch East Indies - Wikipedia We see that one short story that stands out is the actual details of the circle and the uprising, so we see that the lightwoods Marys

Mangus and Alec the start of a deep dive into their relationship.

I haven’t done a deep dive into Magnus’s and Alec’s for a while and I was quite green when I started blogging I haven’t done an in-depth look at this relationship except in the context of it being a place where both parties start to heal from trauma. So we see that they both have a massive amount of trauma in their lives and that they can recognize this and in a way we see that this is a good thing as some people including me have been in a very unhealthy relationships that turned out to be what we would call trauma bonds not love. Magnus’s last meaningful full relationship would have been with Camille Belcourt and that would have been an abusive relationship as she would manipulate him to do her bidding and we see that it was a very off-and-on relationship. [i] It essentially was coercive control of Magnus and this is more common than we would like to think with males it takes a very different look as it can happen when a relationship breaks down or he needs to be home straight
