Recovery the movie 2007 staring David Tennant.

This is going to be a hard one to write about and I am not sure if I should post it to the media blog or the main one. Still, I will post to both, and I have to admit I haven’t been able to finish the film but I have been watching the David Tennant movie Recovery and it’s on Tubi if you want to watch it legally. But you can also find it online as well. It is a well-done movie and it is a very accurate portrayal of a brain injury. It tells the story of   Allen head of a construction firm that suffers a traumatic brain injury and I have to say that its portrayal is accurate as it not only focuses on him as a brain injury survivor but also the family trying to accept that the person that they knew is gone and that there is a different person in place and the frustration of a person who “ present’s” as able-bodied but isn’t and has what we now know as a hidden disability as we don’t say invisible as this means that it may not be their, but hidden well it’s simply hidden from public view.

Ecco park a review episode 8.

Ecco park is an interesting episode to end on and I admit that I did skip a few episodes that are mostly marking for other podcasts but it really does make you think this series as it is set in a world that we are approaching very closely and to me is very reminiscing of disability intuitions for the clones they where prepared for the outside world but at the same time they weren’t and it is where we see a lot of what if questions start to arise.   https://open.spotify.com/show/5kPqdtwaSB6wj7QJhg4IdJ?si=0cf89988850d41b0   These questions are what is ethical to do how is it ok to choose your children if you could, and what would you do if you could take over another person’s life and get away with it? Where does addiction come from, and how to deal with it, it is a thriller in the fact that we see it could be very easily happening with IVF babies and the increased screening for genetic defects and potential disabilities, and around the right to life movement, and we see   a very

Hodge in the Shadow hunters world.

So I am learning never to say never in blogging and I am going back and revisiting a character that was very much a driver in the books but not mentioned in the show. This person is Hodge stark weather. The lightwood family tutor. So we see that he was punished by the clave for his role in the uprising as well however we do see that goes through a massive transformation in the show and we see that he wasn’t mentioned much in the show because they aged him up for the show and didn’t show that he was their tutor and that he couldn’t leave the NY institute and this was his punishment he couldn’t leave. In the books he is more elderly, content, and bookish, he also has a massive greenhouse where he has a lot of plants with that he can make a lot of potions, we also see that it supplies a lot of the institute’s food. As Hodge is a tutor for the lightwood family children and they see him as part of the family, however. We see that they haven’t been told the full story of the uprising a

Chain of gold a review part two.

Chain of gold.   A   continuing review.   I am finding that this book was a good read and reading it alongside the bane chronicles is a good thing as it gives context to what she is talking about and how we need to help around what is happening in the shadow hunter’s world. I also see a lot that is mirrored in our world and history as well, so in looking at what we are doing as a society to those who are vulnerable to abuse and neglect.     However, I did find that we are unable to see what happened once is happening again. So in looking at this we see that they are unable to see what is happening to a lot of people. So, what is happening in the book as the book isn’t set in the modern age it is set in London and Idris. (The shadow hunters’ spiritual home is a home that is complex in a way. As it is glamorized to be invisible to “Mundane's,”   It is a place where technology doesn’t work due to   Adamas [i] as a stone that makes it impervious to demons. We see that they want

Thoughts on the the difference between success and failure.

Image
This is such a difficult and challenging topic and even within the "disability," community. I see that this is just what should be called a community. So it seems like we are able to classify people into successes and failures. But in disability this needs to have a different metric as depending on the persons disablity they may have a very different life path to other people.  So I have put more thoughts into the video as this is a very challenging topic as Dr Jorden Peterson is talking about this topic but we need to remember that he is talking to a very wide audience, and not every peice of advice is going to be suitable for everyone. This is something that we all need to be aware of that not every piece of advice is going to be great for everyone and I know this as I tried following the rules for life and I got very mentally unwell and this meant that we needed to be aware of how this affected me and I had to re evaluate what success meant to me, as a person with "hi

Magnus and the Down world Relationships.  This is a continuation of Magnus's relationships and how he is very well connected to the Down world. It focuses on Asmodeus who we discover is his father. We also discover that Alec is relieved that it wasn't one of his exes. As we see that is why Magnus is so powerful as his magic comes from a prince of hell, which is mentioned in most of the    Abrahamic religions. Very early on in the show, we realize that it is set in a very Judeo -Christian world yet we see that angels are almost worshiped.  So Asmodeus being mentioned is a very real way of tying this into what we can see as a mirror of the real world.  I am talking about several clips and how Magus relates to his father and the difficulties they have as adults trying to reconnect when one is more concerned about power than balancing it with compassion.  Shadowhunters 3x02 | Magnus tells Alec about his father - YouTube  This clip shows Magnus and Alec working really well together

Alec and Izzy: Brother and Sister Relationships

This is such an interesting post to write and I have been putting it off but I believe that the timing is right to do it. So we will look at the dynamic between Alec and Isabelle Lightwood, as this is an interesting one to do as they both take on very different roles in the show over its run we see that they are brother and sister yet they are in a very dysfunctional family yet we see that Izzy does try to look out for Alec as much as he looks out for her.  We see that she is protective of him but at the same time, he tolerates her attention-seeking behavior in the way that they are productive for intelligence in the Shadow world. We see this in Alec when they are on a hunt we see him notice the little things like faerie dust on her dress when they are at the packer's entrance to the hotel Demort when they are on the hunt for answers for Clary.   In the first season, we see that Alec notices physical things but has to be taught to notice social cues, something that people with Auti

Simon and Jace Downworlder Shadowhunter relationships an over view.

This post will be mostly focused on the first and second seasons of Simon as he is dragged into the shadow world, unwillingly he is turned into a vampire without his consent, and has to learn to adapt,  we see that he is horrified at what happens to him yet we see Jace beside Clary to support her as he has tolerated Simon from the start, he does become quite an asset in the Shadow World, yet we see him struggle with the fact that he has been turned into a monster, from a mundane that is trying to drag clary out of this world.  At this stage we see clary still seeking answers to why her mother didn't want her to be part of the Shadow world, we do very quickly find out why and we get a look into the mindsets of the Shadow hunters to the "Mundane," world.  We see in this clip that Jace is very confident in his abilities and isn't impressed with Simon at all, he thinks that Clary would be better off without him yet in the first couple of days we see that Simon sees how th

Alec, Magnus and Maryse a lesson in healing.

This is a continuation of a series I am doing on the relationships in the shadow world, as I see that it can cause trauma and help heal trauma as we see that it's not only the young shadow hunters that grow up and face their reality it is everyone in the Shadow world. As well as the fact that the Show and books have left a lasting legacy, not just fandom but the "Shadow family," I admit that I am not the typical age for Young Adult content but I grew up with the books and the reality is they and the shows dealt with a lot of real-world issues, and we are finding that a lot of people like young adult content in books and shows anyway as it is a way to connect with the younger people in there lives. If you are a part of the Shadow family feel free to comment about what your take is on the way that I am seeing the characters and how it relates to "reality," whatever that be for you.  Alec asks Maryse for the Lightwood ring | Shadowhunters 3x16 - YouTube I love this

Clary and Simon and the Shadow world. Season One Shadowhunter's.

Image
So this is going to be possibly another series of posts about this relationship as it does progress and show's how making decisions on behalf of others can lead to unexpected consequences this starts with Simon trying to protect Clary as they are young adults and he knows nothing about this world and because he can't see what Clary can see he tries to protect her as the assumptions is that she is on something and this is creating problems.  Yet when he discovers she can see the "Shadow world," and he can't he is concerned as a good friend should be yet Jace can show Simon what Clary can see in later episodes in this season.  Jess Penner - "Don't Come Over" Music | Shadowhunters Season 1, Episode 1 | Freeform - YouTube It does create massive problems for the Shadowhunters, due to her ( in the first series) not realizing she is the daughter of one of their own who went rogue. Shadowhunter's and family disfunction - The Lightwoods.

Image
So I was writing a post about the Relationship of the Lightwood family and I realized that this Family has all of the hallmarks of being very dysfunctional is very dysfunctional. The mother Maryse is obsessed with the family image to the detriment of the family and each of the siblings seems to fall into the trope of a person within a dysfunctional family.  Dysfunctional family - Wikipedia  This isn't a  healthy environment for anyone to grow up in yet they do manage to heal after being exposed to a spell that shows people's worst fears through hallucinations, that were caused after being cast by a warlock that is looking for Magnus as he rescued one of her warlock children due to the situation she was living in and she was being used by several people for her magic.  This spell brings out people's worst fears and we see the effects of the life that the Shadowhunters are currently living.  Especially Alec as we see throughout the show that he blames himself for things that

Magnus and his connections to the Shadow hunters

Image
Magnus has had a long and rich life and it has been full of twists and turns but as it turns out being an immortal character he has seen things change over the many years he has been alive, we see that he can see perspective's that others can't and we see that he has a deep mistrust of the Shadowhunter's due to the way that they have treated downworlders, we see that he has watched the Shadoworld change and he has had to change with it.  I am aware that these clips are out of chronological order however it is to give people an overview of Magnus and how he fits into the world and I will do much more in-depth look at the relationships at a later date.  This like how he ties into the down world will be a series as when I started writing it I started reading the YouTube comments and this brought a different spin on things that I hadn't considered.  Shadowhunters 1x11.
