Please stop faking for views, why this hurts the disabled community.

This is the clip that I have been talking about, on my youtube channel,

It seems to me that people feel it’s ok to do this and it is not something that we need to talk about because it seems to be becoming more normal and it’s not ok.

It is undermining what the disability community both in real life and on the internet has fought for and this is really undermining it as we see that people need to be very aware of it because it is not ok.

When we start to speak up about things like this, we see that people get offended and feel it’s ok to question people who use accommodations, such as disability parking spaces and displaying the right cards, and people feel like they can question it.

I see that this may be a bit of a USA-focused problem but it’s not I am seeing that other international creators are faking disabilities for views, and there is something, that people need to be able to be believed, and stop faking for views or credit. It seems to be something that people need to be aware of that people do fake a disability. There is something called trans ableism, and it is able-bodied people who “identity” as disabled, but it seems to be an attention-seeking behavior not in a good way. As to gain attention as an able-bodied person we see that people need to be good at something or to be a good person, this is something to be aware of, in that people need to be able to call out these people.

I am not talking about cancel culture, as they have a mental illness, but becoming disabled is not something to be proud of, as it is the last minority that is actively discriminated against, in the employment market, in housing, in education, and life as well, such as a lack of access to general buildings and a lack of buildings that are accessible, and a lack of universal care programs for the disabled, and we see that people need to be able to understand that being disabled isn’t the easy life that people think it is.

It’s constantly, fighting for care, living on an extreme budget, it’s not being able to do things even as an adult without people’s permission depending on your disability.

So this is why people faking isn’t a good thing it’s a very bad thing and we see that people, need understanding and respect, to process that this isn’t ok and that it has implications for the disabled community in that we are fighting for the care we need and the acceptance of disability to not be politicized.

This is a shorter post than usual but it needs to be talked about lets see what happens, and to talk and reason people with a disability are more likely to be abused by their family, friends, and care givers because people don’t seem to be aware of what the risks of abuse are, and people often aren’t believed until it is too late or it escalates because people do fake for attention, and we see that people need to be able to be believed regardless of other “behaviors of concern” these are people often won’t talk or will use manipulation to get what they want due to never getting what they needed in the past such as basic help in keeping a house hygienic or even the specialist attention or intervention,  to make their life as an adult easier, but often it can be over care or under care, but this is changing.

We see that people are starting to believe the disability community, but we still have people who are “professional activists” and have children or family with a disability, but we see that they have a financial interest, in activism and they feel that they have a right to talk over the lived experience of disability so this is why  I am so disappointed in what people are doing and why they feel that it’s ok, to fake a disability and they have a lack of understanding of what is a disability and you can find the fakers fairly easily because people present a very stereotypical view of disability in that they fake things that are very easy to fake.  Such as movement disorders, eleplisy or mental illness.

These are very real in other people's lives and we need to be able to access the help we need and to have acceptance to have the help without the judgment due to people faking for view, attention, or medications for focus.
