My Support of the Raido presenter who broke down on air discussing disablity services.

So this is a bit of a different post and it is something that needs to be discussed I see that it’s something that others are aware of as well, however, what is it, it is the lack of disability services in the Outback and this is something that we need to be aware of that there are people with a disability that don’t fit into any box, so slip through the gaps.

These doctors don’t want them working, but they can’t drive, they are too high functioning for a day center or they don’t have the funding for a day center and this is a big issue as well.

So what does that look like as well, as the person gets socially isolated and often their budget is very tight so they need to be aware of that as well. But what does this look like and the support that was outpour for Sabra Lane I want to put my bit forward and say that the NDIS is great but we need it to go so much further and we need to be much more aware of this as well.

There is a growing awareness of disability but what it looks like is different for everyone, and not all disabilities are visible.  The amount of support they get vs what they need is an issue as well and support looks different for everyone this is such an interesting issue as well.  It’s also a very complex issue.

This is a link to the original article and we see that it can be very complex to navigate for many people as well.
