  This is going to be an interesting post given that Magnus doesn’t seem to have a lot of respect for Jace at times and Jace seems to be quite disrespectful in the way that he sees himself and Alec as a package deal we see that he has no hesitation in barging in when Mangus and Alec are having some much fought for time alone,   something that we see is a continuing theme as I realize it is their jobs but at the same time, we see that it’s something that becomes quite complex where Magnus needs to start to understand these relationships a lot better as in a way Jace and Alec are a package deal.      We can see how annoyed Mangus and Alec are at this moment as they were only just starting to discuss their relationship at this stage we start to understand that Alec has never had a relationship due to thinking he could have what he wanted in a relationship so chose duty over his relationship prospects as he lives in a very conservative world.   Shadowhunters 2x08 ~ Alec asks Maryse t

 This is so important to talk about as it makes sense to me as Jace does have a shift in his mindset and we see that this is not a good thing as we see that he starts to mature in a way and he understands in a way what clary is going through as it makes sense to me.  That he was taken in by the light woods, at the age of 10  but knew he was a shadow hunter whereas Clary doesn't know that she is a shadow hunter so she needs to be taught as an adult what being a shadow hunter means.  Also, Jace knows that his abilities are good and he is one of the best as he has been told this from a young age as well.  But we do understand as well, that the world is brutal but the family dynamics can be interesting and complex depending on the missions they are tasked with as well. As we see that the shadow world is brutal, at times and it does at times impact the Shadow hunters in a very real way.   Jace knows that he has good skills but forgets his mission at times,  as he is in love he has found

    This is a follow-up post on Jace and his mindset as it goes from very stable to very unstable due to clary bringing Jace back from the dead as he was at peace, we see that even Alec knows that Jace was dead and seeks to bring the truth out of Clary but she carries that with her to the point of lying about it and then covering up that lie.   As we forget that Clary hasn’t been brought up in the shadow world and that she doesn’t realize that Alec can feel Jace and that he knew it and this is the start of Jace’s mindset shift from cocky to vulnerable. Something that can happen in reality if you have a chronic illness or develop a disability. That prevents you from having a “normal,” life.  This is such an interesting post to write about as I have grown so much as a writer in doing this blog and the trauma that comes into the Shadow world is very real and listening and spending time with people who work with people with complex trauma has given me a very different perspective on it.  So please I do welcome you to start the conversation on the blog and to suggest to me content ideas as well.   I  am now starting to look at this through a wider lens one that says that we are all humans and that these guys are human as well and that this humanity is what their relationship's so complex as well as the fact that they are willing to sacrifice themselves for the good of humanity. I see that this is a good thing however we do see that it comes at a price for most of them. In that, the mission comes first this could be as simple as finding out where demons are coming from or as complex as a mission to banish a greater demon back to the realm it came from in the shadow world. 

The issues of social media.  'The winter of our disconnect.' By Susan Maushart published in 2010   I read a book a while ago called 'The winter of our  disconnect.' It was an experiment in going screen-free for a year her herself and her 3 teens and the results it had on the family. This was back in 2008 so we need to see where we have gone with the internet from there the issues she outlined have only got worse during the pandemic and as the technology has gotten more advanced and the issues around it have got more complex and the complexity of the socio-political landscape has got worse and more polarized due to the internet and that we can be connected from anywhere as we did see the internet used more and more to keep people connected during the pandemic.   However, we saw that this created more issues than it solved.
