  So I recently was backing up my blog and saw some early content that I am going to revisit due to the fact that I have more information and experience in this area and we see that people are able to understand Magnus’s a lot better due to having much more background information, due to reading the source material, the books by Casandra Clare and these books are what the Movie and TV show are based on, but I did a post on Mangus and disability as in the show he loses his magic through choosing to save Alecs   [i] Parabatai, and we see that there was a domino effect that happened around this in what   happened after woods being some really bad decisions that led to him not   having his apartment, that he has lived in since he moved to Brooklyn and we see that in the show and we need to remember that the show and books are two very different things, as book to screen adaptation can be tricky due to the fact that there was issues over copyright and that we had to movie that was true to

So this is really interesting post as Mangus is immortal and this plays into a lot of what he does in the Shadow world and we see that people are seeing that this plays into the ways the shadow hunters see him du to the fact that they aren’t great, at information sharing and there is a whole mantra in the Shadowhunters that they don’t interfere with downworlders affairs and down worlders are often seen as second class citizens that in previous eras,   and we see that   Mangus has seen the change in attitudes from downworlders needing to be “eliminated,” to controlled, and then the accords coming in.   Giving them there rights to self govern but we see that in the past shadow hunters downworlders for sport and this gave rise to fundamentalist thinking and this is what lead to the Circle and it was lead by Valentine and it shows how extremism can rise in any organization, But in bringing it back to Mangus the box has many happy memories as we see him fighting, in what seems to be   the

    So this is going to be a really interesting post to write as I have covered the topic before but it is a very complex argument to be had around disability and representation in the media. I have the blog post on what is media, but for this post, I am going to narrow it down to   TV, books, and podcasts.   This is so by establishing it as entertainment media we see that people are looking for diverse content but what about the disabled community do we see ourselves represented on screen the answer is not really. We see ourselves presented in a very inaccurate way and at times as a trope being inspiration porn the term that was coined by Stella Young, [i] and it is at times hard for people's mental health as this overcoming and warm and fuzzy, and easy to share content is easy but we don’t see the struggles of disability represented well I know that some dated shows were ahead of their time.   Then we get into the News media that is now inextricably linked to politics and we

  This will be a bit of deep dive into what support and care are are, so In a previous post, I talked about active and passive support. There are times when both are appropriate but today I want to focus on active support and what that looks like as it is very different from passive support is when a support worker does things for you instead of with you and this is where things get tricky as it can lead to something called learned helplessness, and learned dependency.     However active support is where the support worker is engaging the clients to build their capacity and skills, or in the case of a higher functioning client to have their skills expanded upon or to not go backward, we see that this often can be the case in some cases where someone goes into a disability service facility. There is an argument to be held around disability and consent and active support and this is where active support becomes support and care so understanding that support is an evolving process and

  This post is one that again I am a bit scared of and yes I am a person who can be scared of my success, in a way, but it is my thoughts on the friendly Jordie’s situation, he is a political YouTuber who has successfully tackled topics that the mainstream media won’t or can’t touch due to funding or other issues such as not being able to give fair and unbiased coverage. I will be the first to say I don’t agree with everything he says but that is where living in a democratic society is a blessing, but we see that actions have consequences and freedom of speech isn’t freedom of consequences.  But now one deserves the consequences of having your home targeted and the mainstream media doxing you, doxing is putting someone else’s private information, on the internet without their express consent with the intent to do them harm, this is a very dark side of the internet culture, and we see that this and cancel culture is on every creator’s mind when we see people taking offense to their c
